WHO WERE THE TROJANS?





One of the factors to prove the Turkic origins of theTrojans is the Etruscan writings that has been deciphered by Prof. Chingiz Garasharli through Old Turkic languages. The Etruscans are known to have descended from the Trojans who had migrated to Italy after the collapse of Troy.

Chingiz Garasharli, professor of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, answers this question in his newly published book “The Trojans wereTurks”. 



His conclusion is based on four factors: 

1.
Information of Old European authors, who write about the Turkic origins of the Trojans. 

The Fredegar Chronicle of the 7th century, Gesta Francorum of the 12th century, Tyreli William of the 12th century, Andrea Dandalo of the 14th century and many others considered the Turks to have descended from the Turcos of the Trojan origin.

Felik Fabri, a German author, referred the Turkic history of Troy to the older period - to the time of Teucros.

Giovanni Mario Filelfo informs in his work “Amyris” that Sultan Mehmed the 2nd presented his victory over Greeks as a triumph of justice. According to him, with the conquest of Istanbul the Turks revenged the Greeks who had once occupied it.

Sultan Mehmed, the Turkish sultan, who was well informed about the Turkic origins of Troy,was right to consider the conquest of Istanbul as vengeance for Troy. Later in the 20th century Mus tafa Kemal Ataturk considered his victory onforeign invaders as vengeance for Ektor, a Trojan hero, the son of the last Trojan king - Priam.

In fact these Turkish victories were not at all invasion, but liberati on of old motherland and vengeance for Troy of which evidence the European sources of 7th-15th centuries.

After Troy was destroyed by the Greeks, its population migrated in different directions, among which two of them are of particular interest: those who migrated to Italy founded the Etruscan civilization and those who settled in the north of Europe were dealt within old Germanic sagas as the Turkic kings of Sweden and Norway.


The second factor 
to prove the Turkic origins of the Trojans is the Etruscan writings that has been de cip he red by Ch. Garasharli through Old Turkic languages.

The Etruscans are known to have descended from the Trojans who had migrated to Italy after the collapse of Troy. 

Some European researchers yet in the previous centuries having found Turkic words in the Etruscan language, considered it to be of Turkic origin. They could not however go further on into the texts, as their translation needed a deeper knowledge of Old Turkic languages which could serve as key to the Etruscan writings. 

It was done by Garasharli in his researches. Garasharli is right to say that the old European sources had no reason to fabricate false stories about Troy. 

He presents numerous facts of the Old Turkic names of the Trojans that prove the information of the Old European authors. 


It is the third factor 
to prove the Turkic origins of theTrojans: Priam, the name of the last Trojan king, is obviously the same Priyam, the name of a Turanian commander, described in an old Turkic (Kazakh) epic. It should be mentioned that the Kazakhan throponomy is particularly distinguished among Turkic languages for containing evidentearly Mediterranean (Trojan, Pelasgian) names.

Even the name of the Ionian (Pelasgian) folk singer and poet, Homer, turns out to have its counter part in the Kazakh epic: Gumar, a mythological Turanian folksinger Garasharli discovers in the anthoponomy of the Trojans a whole group of Turkic names, which have evident counter parts in the old Turkic, Kazakh, Kirghizian, Chuvash and other Turkic languages.

Dardan, an ancestor of Priam's generation, is the same Kirghizian Dardan - a personal name. And the interpretation is reasonable: Turkic Dardan stems from the Kirghizian appellative dardan, which forms the personal name meaning “healthy”, “enormous”, “clumsy”. 

Alber, the name of a Trojan commander, is the same old Turkic Alper, denoting “hero”, “brave” (O.Turk. alp, alb, “hero”, “brave” - er “man”) which was widely used as a component of Old Turkic personal names, and in the name of Alper Tonga, a Turanian ruler.

Garasharli discovers this name in old Germanic sagas. “The saga about Nibelungs” tells us about the albs (”heroes”) and their king Alberikh - Trojan by origin, who were the leaders of the Trojans.. 

Askan, the name of a Trojan hero, is completely consonant with an Old Turkic pers nal name - Askan, used by the Huns. Today it is observed in the anthroponomy of the Turkic Altays. 

Ch.Garasharli derives its origin from the appellative askan (”violent”, “naughty”) used in Turkic languages. Paris, the name of Priam's son, is found to coincide with the Turkic (Khakas) Paris, a variant of the personal names Baris/Barys/Barysh/Bars, used in other Turkic languages. 

It is derived from the Turkic parys/pars/bars (”ounce”, “snow leopard”) and used as the symbol of strength in Turkic anthroponomy. It is al so observed in such compound personal names as Barsbeg, Barskan, Barýsbek (Kzakh), Barisbi (Karachay - Balkar), etc. 

The onomastic analogies found by the author are more and more. 
He finds that Aytilla, Priam's sister, to be the same as the Kirghizian Aytilla, a male name. Batiya, a female personal name, referred to the daughter of Teucros, the first king of Troy, is the same Batiya used in the Kazakh anthroponomy as female name.

Thus, the author finds the names of both Priam and his generation in Turkic anthroponomy. 

Garasharli finds out analogies between Turkic-Trojan gods. For instance, Bayana, Athorodita's epithet in Troy. In Greek mythology Athorodi ta was known as the goddess of marriage, birth and nursing”. The same function belonged to the Turkic Goddess, Bayana, which has obvious Turkic roots. 

Composed of the Turkic bay (”protect -ress”, “great”, “sacred”) and ana (”mother”), the theonym denotes “the protectress of the tribe”,“the great mother of the tribe”.


Finally, the fourth factor 
is the Old Turkic(Trojan) lexicon borrowed in to the Scandinavian languages from the Trojan language, brought here by the Trojans after the collapse of Troy.

The existance of Turkic Trojans in Scandinavia was dealt by prof. Sven Lagerbring (1707-1787) in his book “The Turkic fathers of the Scandinavians”. 

In his book he demons trates a lot of Turkic words used in the Swedish language with the same meaning as in Turkic. 

Prof. Garasharli's personal researches gives the same result. He has discovered a number of Turkic words in Scandinavin and Celtic languages which are harmonious with the information of the old Scandinavian sagas about the Turkic kings of Sweden and Norway. Researches of Garasharli illucidates the darkages of Scandinavian history which was connected with the Trojans, the old settlers of this land after the collapse of Troy.

Some Germanic sources write about the old kings of Sweden and Norway as Turkic kings and the royal nobility of Scandinavia as being of Trojan origin [62, p.73, 182].

The northward migration of the Trojans also found its reflection in the «Saga about Nibelungs» where the Trojans are called albs («heroes») and their king – Alberikh [139, 131-133]. 

Alb is derived from the old Turkic alp, alb («brave», «daring») [176,37].

As to Alberikh, it consists of the same alb and old Turkic – erik («swift», «energetic») [176, 177]. 

The first element of erig (er «brave», «warrior») was used in combination with alb/alp as a personal name: Alber, a Trojan personal name in the «Iliad», Alper – an Old Turkic personal name with the meaning «brave warrior», «brave man» and «daring man».

A 13th century Scandinavian author, S.Sturluson, refers to the Trojan migration to the north of Europe as the beginning of a new era. According to V. Sherbakov, the valley of the Alp mountains, in the beginning of the new era, was settled by a people who spoke the Etruscan language [143, 194].

Alber, the name of a Trojan commander, is the same old Turkic Alper, denoting «hero», «brave» (O.Turk. alp, alb, «hero», «brave» - er «man») [49, 136-137].

Alper was widely used as a component of Old Turkic personal names, and in the name of Alper Tonga, a Turanian ruler [176, 37].

The Trojans, who settled in North Europe after the collapse of Troy, left this name in old Germanic sagas. «The saga about Nibelungs» tells us about the albs («heroes») and their king Alberikh - Trojan by origin [139, 131-133].

Askan, the name of a Trojan hero [9, 205], is completely consonant with an Old Turkic personal name – Askan, used by the Huns [150, 75]. Today it is observed in the anthroponomy of the Turkic Altays [125, 50].

Its origin stems from the appellative askan («violent», «naughty») [200, 44], the Chuvash variant of the Turkic azhgın [165, 85].

Atas, the name of another son of Priam [41, 190], can be compared with Atas, a Kazakh personal name (168, 63), derived from the Turkic ata («father») with the unproductive suffix s, denoting likeness, similarity: ata-s «like father», «similar to
father». The analogical word is observed in the Bashkir language (atas «like father») [169, 58].

Homer tells of the Trojan night-spy Dolon hiding under a wolfskin, and Euripides embellishes the tale:

"I will draw a wolf skin over my back, put the beast's gaping jaws around my head, fasten the forelegs to my hands, its legs to mine,  and mimic the four-footedwolf-gait, hard to spot for the foes."

Euripides, whose Dolon walks on all fours like a wolf, stresses the stealth that the wolfskin grants.




Bu tür izahlar bazı gerçeklerle da ispatlanabilir. Belirtmek gerekir ki, Yunanlılar, Balkan ve Küçük Asya'ya gelmeden önce buralarda Türk unsuru mevcuttu. Örneğin, Truva  Savaşı sırasında Truva hâkimi Priam (8*) müttefiklerine yardıma gitmişti. 




Another important factor that illustrates the non-Indo-European origin of the Pelasgians is their close relationship to the Thracians - pre-Greek settlers of Greece. Pelasgo-Thracian onomastic parallels, as well as the Thraco – Trojan kinship, dealt with in the "Iliad", exclude the Indo-European origins of both Pelasgians and Thracians, as long as the Trojans are known to have been neither Greek, nor of any other Indo-European peoples.

Özet olarak şunu söylüyor.

Tarihin eski çağlarında Yunanlıların yazdıkları Tarih kayıtlarında Asya ile ilgili tüm Coğrafya ve Tarihle ilgili özgün isimleri kasıtlı olarak değiştirdiklerinden söz ediyor. 

Garip bir şekilde ırmak, kent, ülke adlarını tanınmaması için sakladıklarından söz ediyor. Bu yaptıklarının hala bu günlere kadar büyük karmaşıklığa ve belirsizliklere neden olduğunu söylüyor.

Bu yapılanın tek amacı o toplumları Tarih sahnesinden silmektir.

Bu böyle olunca da: Tarihin 5500 yıl ve öncesine uzanan ve zamanının en ileri ve büyük uygarlığı olan Türk Oğuz Boyu uygarlığının adını verdiği  "Oğuz" Irmağı'nı, bir beş para etmez Üniversitenin, beş para etmez profesöründen tarihi adı diye "Oxus" olarak öğrenirsin.

Sonra da dünya üzerinde kimsenin ciddiye almadığı, elindeki o beş para etmez diplomayla boş kafalı bir asalak olarak yaşarsın. Hatta haddini bilmez bir de ağzını açarsın…

Bu akraba ziyaretiyle bizi çok mutlu ettiniz.

Kardeşlerim, bilimsel araştırmalar Çuvaşların büyük atalarının Türklerden olduğunu ve onların Orta Asya'dan buraya geldiklerini açıkça ortaya koymuştur.

Çuvaşça, Türk dilleri arasında yer alır. Size uzak görünen ve anlaşılmaz gelen bu lehçe aslında ortak atalarımızın konuştuğu dildir.

Çuvaşçayı şekillendirenler Altayların güneybatısında yaşayan OĞUZLARDI.

MÖ.1000 yılında bu kavim ikiye ayrılmıştı. Bir kısım Oğuzların Hint-Avrupa dili konuşanlarla ilişkileri nedeniyle lehçeleri "r" ve "l" harfi değişimi görmüştü.

Bu Oğuz kavimleri zaman içerisinde Ogur Türkleri olarak bilindiler. 

Türk lehçeleri "z" harfinin "r" ye ve "ş" harfinin "l" ye değişimi esas alınarak iki kolda tasnif edilmiştir.

Buna göre "z" "ş" esaslı lehçeler grubuna Doğu Türkçesi , "r" "l" esaslı lehçeler grubuna da Batı Türkçesi denilmiştir.

Bu ikinci grubta yer aldığımız için atalarımızın adı da OĞUZ'dan OGUR'a dönüşmüştür.

Ogurlar Hunların da atalarıdır. 

Mete Han Hun İmparatorluğunu kurduğunda ordusu aynı kökten, ama birbirine uzak lehçeler konuşan halklardan oluşuyordu . Mete Han dil birlikteliği için Ogurların dilini , yani günümüz Çuvaşçasına yakın Ogur Türkçesini seçti.

Hunların batıya göçüyle MS.5.yüzyılda dilimiz batıya taşındı. Bu dili bu coğrafyadaki yerli halklara öğrettik ama onlardan sözcükler ve gramer düzenlemeleri aldık.

Özetle, biz Çuvaşlar ortak atalarımızın , yani Hunların dilini konuşuyoruz. Çuvaşça ayrıca Türk dilleri arasında Ogur öbeği olarak bilinen kolun yaşayan tek dilidir. Yakın akrabaları Hun dili, Ön Bulgarca ve Hazarca artık ölü dillerdir.

Siz bana, akrabalığımız nereden geliyor diye sordunuz, işte cevabım budur. Benim konuştuğum dili anlayamasanızda , ruhunu hissedersiniz. Çünkü ben sizin babanızın, atalarınızın sesini taşıyorum dünden bugüne.

Ve diliniz değişime uğramış derseniz aramız bozulur. 

Etnik açıdan baktığınızda Çuvaşların Asyalı kökleri kadar burdaki yerli topluluklar, yani Fin-Ugor kavimleriylede yakın akrabalığı, kan bağı . 7 yüzyılda Karadeniz'in kuzeyinde kurulan Büyük Bulgar Hanlığıyla , İdil Bulgar Hanlığının temel harcını koyanlar bizim atalarımızdır.

Avrupa Hunları , Sabirler ve Ogur Türklerinin karışması sonucu Bulgar adıyla anılan Türk topluluğu ortaya çıktı.

İşte bizler steplerde kurulan bu devletlerin en büyük parçalarından , kurucu unsurlarından biriyiz.

İdil Bulgar Hanlığı döneminde Suvar kent halkı ve çevresinde yaşayanlar Moğol istilası sonucu kuzeyde ortaya çıktılar ve kültürlerini burda korudular. Biz atalarımızın mirasını her türlü olumsuzluğa rağmen günümüze taşıdık ve Çuvaşlar olarak tarih sahnesine çıktık.

İdil Bulgar Devletinin Slav, Macar, Mari ve Udmur dillerinde etkisi büyük olmuştur.

Demem o ki, bugün Rusya ve Doğu Avrupa'da birçok kültürün temelinde Çuvaşların etkisi var ve onların kadim tarihini Çuvaş kültürünü bilmeden araştırma yapamazsınız."

Çuvaşlar atalarının Suvarların öncülleri Sabirlerle , Bulgarların öncülleri Ogur kavimleri olduğunu sıkça dile getiriyorlar. Bu her iki kavimde Orta Asya kökenli Türk toplulukları.

Bazı bilimadamları Çuvaşların atalarının bölgeye MÖ.10.yüzyılda geldiklerini belirtirken , bazıları ise Hun Konfederasyonu içinde yer aldıklarını savunuyorlar. Bu durumda ataların Kıpçak düzlüklerine gelişleri en geç MS.5.yüzyıla tarihleniyor.

Çuvaşların kökenini özellikle Hunlar üzerinden açıklamaya çalışan araştırmacılar kadar, onları yerli kavimler Fin-Ugor halklarıyla daha yakın gören tarihçilerde bulunuyor. Kadim geçmişleri hakkında bu denli farklı görüşler olmasına rağmen, yakın tarihlerindeki kronolojilerinde sorun yok. Çünkü Çuvaşların bir Türk kavmi olduğu bilinen Ön Bulgarlarla yakın akrabalıkları artık bilimsel çevrelerce kabul edilmiş durumda.

Çuvaş adının da Suvar'dan dönüştüğü tahmin ediliyor.

Romanın məşhur Qay sülaləsi də özünü troyalı Eneyin soyuna bağla-yırdı. Məşhur Roma imperatoru Qay Yuli Sezar senatda ilk çıxışında «Mən əsilzadəyəm, troyalı Eneyin nəslindənəm» deyərək özünü təqdim etmişdir."

"Belirtmek gerekir ki, "erkek" anlamında kullanılan "er/ar" Türk etnonimlerine özgü alamettir, örneğin, Bulgar (bu etnonimin balık (7*) + er yani "şehir sakini" gibi izahı daha uygun), azar, "Sabir/Suvar/Subar" (T- çoğul eki)....

Veyahut, Yunanlılar Küçük Asya'da geldikten sonra yerli nüfus Yunanlılar tarafından bilinmeyen "var/bar" sözlerini kullandıklarına göre gelenler onları "varvar/barbar" diye çağırıyordular. Bize göre, "varvar/barbar" adı "ar/er-erkek" kelimesi "b/v" harfinin protezleşmesi sonucunda oluşmuştur ve bu söz "insanlar/adamlar" demektir (var+var=varvar/kişiler ). "

A Comparative Grammar of the Dravidian Or South-Indian Family 
of Languages by Robert Caldwell


....My own theory is that the Dravidian languages occupy a position of their own between the languages of the Indo-European family and those of the Turanian or Scythian group- not quite a midway position, but one considerably nearer the latter than the former....page vii

.... In some particulars- as-might be expected from the contact into which the Sanskrit-speaking race was brought with the aborginal races of India-Sanskrit appears to differ less widely than the other Indo-European tongues from the languages of the Scythian group. 

One of these particulars- the appearance in Sanskrit of consanants of the cerebral series- will be discussed fruther on in connection with the Dravidian system of sounds. Mr.Edkins in his "China's Place in Philology" has opened up a new line of inquiry in regard to the existence of Turanian influences in the grammatical structure of Sanskrit. He regards the inflexion of nouns by means of case endings alone without prepositions in addition, as the adoption by Sanskrit of a Turanian rule.

He thinks alsı the position of the words in a Sanskrit prose sentence is Turanian rather than Aryan.

It is an invariable law of the distinctively Turanian tongues that related sentences precede those to which they are related. It is another invariable law that the finite verb is placed at the end of the sentence. In both these particulars Mr.Edkins thinks that Sanskrit has yielded to Turanian influences.

This certainly seems to be the case with regard to the vernaculars which have been developed out of the old colloquial Sanskrit; but in so far as the Sanskrit of literature is concerned, the Turanian rule is far from being universally followed. Mr.Edkins himself gives an illustration from a Sanskrit prose story (p315) which shows that a relative clause sometimes succeeds, instead of preceding, the indicative clause , and that the position of the finite verb is not always at the end of the sentence. Perhaps all that can be said with certainty is that in Sanskrit prose and in prosaic verse related sentences generally precede, and the finite verb generally comes last. Up to this point, therefore, it may perhaps fairly be held tahat Turanian influences have made themselves felt even in Sanskrit.



We are safer, however , in dealing with facts than with causes; for on this theory it might be necessary to hold that LATIN syntax is more TURANIAN than GREEK, and GERMAN more TURANIAN than ENGLISH.... page: 56



...I described the conclusion I arrived at as similar to Rask's, not the same, because I did not think it safe to place the Dravidian idioms unconditionally in the Scythian group, but preffered considering them more closely allied to the Scythian than to the Indo-European. 

In using the word "Scythian", I use it in the wide, general sense in which it was used by Rask, who first employed in to designate that group of tongues which comprises the Finnish, the Turkish, the Mongolian, and the Tungusian families. 

All these languages are formed on one and the same grammatical system and in accordance with the same general laws. They all express grammatical relation by the simple agglutination of auxiliary words or practicles ; whilst in the Semitic languages grammatical relation is expressed by variations in the internal vowels of the roots, and in the Chinese and other isolative, monosyllabic languages, by the position of words in the sentence alone.

The Indo-European languages appear to have been equally with the Scythian agglutinative in origin; but they have come to require to be formed into a class by themselves, through their allowing their agglutinated acuwiliary words to sink into the position of mere signs of inflexion.

The Scythian languages have been termed by some the Tatar family of tongues, by others the Finnish, the Altaic, the Mongolian, or the Turanian; but as these terms have often been appropriated to designate one or two families, to the exculision of the rest, they seem too narrow to be safely employed as common desgnations of the entire group.

The term Scythian having already been used by the classical writers in a vague, undefined sense, to denote generally the barbarous tribes of unknown origin that inhabited the northern parts of Asia and Europe, it seemed to me to be the most appropriate and convenient word which was available.

Professor Raski who was the first to suggest that the Dravidian languages were probably Scythian, did little more than suggest this relationship. The evidence of it was left both by him and by the majority of succeeding writers in a very defective state. General statements of the Scythian relationship of the Drabidian languages, with a few grammitaical illustrations, occupy a place in Prichard's "Researches" and have been repeated in several more recent works.

Prichard himself wished to see the problem, not merely stated, but solved; but I believe it can never be definitely solved without previously ascertaining by a careful, intercomparison of dialects, what were the most ancient grammatical forms and the most essential characterstics of the Dravidian languages and of the various families of languages included in the Scythian group respectively.

It was not till after I had commenced to carry the first edition of this work through the press that I became acquainted with Prof.Max Müller's treatise : éOn the present state of our knowledge of the Turanian Languaes" included in Bunsen's "Outlines of the Philosophy of Universal History". Notwithstanding the great excellence of that treatise, I did not find my own work forestalled by the Proffesor's. His was a general survey of the whole field....page 65


...An excellent beginning has been made in Boller's treatises: "Die Finnischen Sprachen" and "Die Conjugatşon in den Finnischen Sprachen" , Schott's treatise: "Über das Finnish-Tatarische Sprachengeschlecht" and Castren's "De Affixis Personalibus Linguarum Altaicarum" ; in addition to which we have now Professor Hunfalvy's paper "On the Study of the Turanian Languages" in which he carefully compares the Hungarian, Vogul, Ostiak and Finnish and proves that the vocabularies of those four languages are of a common origin, and that their grammars are closely related....page 66

...It is also to be remembered that the Turkish, Finnish, Hungarian and Japanese languages though in many particulars distinctively Turanian, have become still more inflexional than the Dravidian....page 68

Professor Oppert holds that the people by whom this language was spoken were Medians, but agrees with Mr.Norris in considering the language Scythian- that is Turanian....page 69

Ama Hyperboreliler gönderdikleri adamların geri dönmediklerini görmüşler. Acaba sonradan gidecek olan elçilerimiz de dönmeyecekler mi, diye telaş etmişler; bundan sonra buğday saplarına sarılıp komşularına olan sungularını getirip komşularına vermişler ve onların da öbür komşularına vermelerini istemişler. Böylece elden ele Delos'a kadar gelir derler. 

Ben kendi hesabıma, Thrak ve Paionia kadınlarında da bu sungular için yapılanlara benzer bir görenek olduğunu biliyorum: Kraliçe Artemis adına kurban kestikleri zaman, töreni buğday sapı olmadan yapmazlar.

Sunak üzerinde kurbanın butları yakıldığı zaman külleri Opis ve Arge'nin mezarları üzerine serpilir. Bu mezar Artemis tapınağının arkasına konmuştur; yüzü güneşin doğduğu yöne bakar ve Kea'lıların şölen salonunun hemen yanına düşer.

Rome’s She-Wolf Younger Than Its City

The icon of Rome’s foundation, the Capitoline she-wolf, was crafted in the Middle Ages, not the Antiquities, according to a research into the statue’s bronze-casting technique.

The discovery quashes the long-prevailing belief that the she-wolf was adopted as an icon by the earliest Romans as a symbol for their city.

Recalling the story of a she-wolf which fed Romulus, the legendary founder of Rome, and his twin brother, Remus, after they had been thrown in a basket into the Tiber River, the statue has been always linked to the ancient world.

An Etruscan workshop in the 5th century B.C. or the masterpiece of the 6th century B.C. Etruscan sculptor Vulca of Veii.

The Romans later adopted the wolf since her defiant stance and raised eyebrows seemed to reflect Rome’s liberation from the Etruscan rule.

On the contrary, scholars have long established that the bronze figures of Romulus and Remus were added in the Renaissance, in accordance to the legend of Rome’s foundation.

“Now incontestable proofs tell us that also the she-wolf is not a product of the Antiquities,” Adriano La Regina, former Rome’s archaeological superintendent and professor of Etruscology at Rome’s La Sapienza University, wrote in Italy’s daily “La Repubblica.”

According to La Regina, analysis carried out by restorer Anna Maria Carruba during the 1997 restoration of the bronze statue showed that the she-wolf was cast as a single unit.

In the opinion of Müller, the Etruscans were a race which judging from the evidence of the language, was originally very foreign to the Grecian, but neverthless had adopted more or the Hellenic civilisation and art than any other race not of the Greek family, in these earlt times. The principal reason, according to him, is probably furnished by the colony of the Pelasgo-Tyrrhenians, which was driven from Southern Lydia and establieshed itself chiefly around Caere (Agylla) and Tarquinii.

The latter city maintained for a while the dignity of a leading member among the confederate cities of Etruria and always remained the chief point from which Greek civilisation radiated over the rest of the country.

In Dr.Corssen's late work on "The Language of the Etruscans" he considers it as an Aryan language and as an old Italian dialect, which during centuries has suffered much from phonetic decay; but it is evident the Etruscan is strictly an agglutinative dialect of the Turanian type.

In the hands of Lord Crwford the speech of the Etruscans turns out to be very fair High Dutch, or Gothic; while the Rev.Isaac Taylor in his "Etruscan Researches" finds a key to the solution of Etruscan in the Ugric or Finnic-Turkic, a kindred Turanian language.

The Etruscan problem must however, still be considered unsolved though much has been done to help it forward and we must await the discovery of a long bilingual inscription before the question can be finally settled. ***

To the many theories which have been advanced in regard to the Etruscans, may we be allowed to put forward one more?

In our view the Etruscans appear to be an original Turanian race , which formed the underlying stratum of population over the whole world and which cropped up, like Basques in Spain, in that part of Italy called Etruria.

"The great feature in the history of the Turanian races" as Mr.Fergusson writes, "is that they were the first to people the whole world beyond the limits of the origianl cradle of mankind. Like the primitive unstratifed rocks of geologists, they form the sub-structure of the whole world, frequently rising into the highest and most prominent peaks, sometimes overflowing whole districts and occupying a vast portion of the world's surface, everywhere underlying all the others, and affording their disintegrated materials to form the more recent strata that now overlie and frequently obliterate them.

In appearance at least, whether nearly obliterated as they are in most parts of Europe, or whether they still retain their nationality, as in the eastern parts of Asia, they always appear as the earliest of races, and everywhere present peculiarities of feeling and civilisation easily recognised and distinguish them from all the other races of mankind." (Fergusson 'History of Architecture' vol.i.p.46)

The language of the Etruscans also seems to be Turanian, an early stage of language which forms the substructure of a higher stage in many countries, a stage which language must necessarily pass through before reaching the higher inflectional or Aryan stage, for as Professor Müller observes, we cannot resist the conclusion that what is now inflectional was formerly agglutinative.

"Further" as Sir Gardner Wilkinson writes, "it is the earliest mould into which human discourse naturally, and as it were spoutaneously throws itself."

Hence the apparent connection of the Etruscan with other Turanian languages, such as the Scythic, the Finnic, etc.

At a later period by colonisation first, the Tyrrhenian from Lydia and secondly the Corinthian, when Demaratus settled at Tarquinii, they received a Greek element of civilisation, but the people still remained essentially Turanian in their feelings and habits.

Mr.Taylor has pointed out some coincidences and similarities in their language and religious beliefs to those of the Ugric and Tartaric races. These similarities are not, however, to be attributed to any attinity of race or direct connection, but to these peoples being in the same stage of development with regard to civilisation and especially in regard to language.

The phase of civilisation being the same, similar beliefs, customs, etc. will necessarily be evolved. The phase of language being agglutinative, many similarities will appear among Turanian or agglutinative languages, as the necessary result of their being in the same phase, and not from any conncetion of race.

The characteristics of Etruscan beliefs and vreed, of Etrsucan language, will bear a great resemblance to those of  other races in a similar low stage of development. This may be proved by extending the analogies. 

Thus we find in the imperfect civilisation of some of the American races, which may be considered as analogous to the Turanians of the eastern world, many analogies in beliefs, customs and language to the Turanian stage.

Hence, we meet in America temple-tombs (the pyramids of Mexico were undoubted temple-tombs) an animistic belief, tent, life, language in agglutinative phase, etc. Many other features, counterparts of which will be found occurring in the Turanian stage of the eastern world, will be met in Mexico and Peru, all the necessary growth of that phase of civilisation.

Putting aside the languages of such impossible races, the languages of Europe and Asia divide themselves into three grand divisions:—

I. The Aryan or Indo-European languages,—such as Sanskrit, Persian, Greek, Latin, German, Russian, or Welsh.

II. The Semitic languages,—such as Phosnician, Hebrew, Arabic, and Assyrian.

III. The Turanian languages, comprising the various Finnic, Turkic, Mongolic, Dravidic, and Malayic dialects.

But if it be admitted, as it must be, that the Etruscan numerals are decisively Turanian, it follows, I think, without further evidence, that the Etruscan belongs to the Turanian family of languages.

Moreover it is more than probable that the stem "Tur-2 (> Tur anians) is also the basic of the name of the Turks : The biological-genetic affiliation of the Etruscans and the Turks has very recently been proven (Achilli et al,2007, Pellacchia et al.2007) (...)

Since on the one side the Etruscans are genetically Turks and on the other side they are linguistically Hungarians, this can be only due to the common Sumerian origin of both the Turks and the Hungarians (...) using linguistic, archaeological, historical and biological-genetic facts that the Rhaetians are not related with the Etruscans, but the Etruscans and the ancient inhabitants of Lemnos are related with the Hungarians, The Turks and the Sumerians. 

We may as further if Etruscan is really as asserted by Alinei (2003,2005a) a form of Early Hungarian or if it belonged to another language closely related to Hungarian

the Pelasgians that originally lived in Libya or Palas Athena, and who later moved into ancient Greece as indigenous people there, were Altaic people. Excavations in Libya show this. They had some conflicts with the very first Egyptian dynasties. According to Herodotus, the pre-Greek population of the Lemnos island was Pelasgian, a non Indo-European people, and according to Thucydides they were Tyrrhenian. That word is the same word as Turanian (Altaic peoples). 

Pythagoras, thousands of years later in time, was a Pelasgian and said so himself. They were described by ancient but later Greek historians as always riding on horseback and using strange, short horses (the kind used by other Altaics even today). Another ancient Greek name for them was Tyrrhenian, which is pronounced the same as the Turko-Tatar word for their own group: Turanian. These were considered the Old People or Original People there.

The Enigma of Pelasgians and Etruscans

Pelasgians, ancient people, the ancestors of NON Indo-European people.

Virgil (Aeneid, VIII, V. 62-63), writes:
“It is sayd that the first dwellers of our Italy were the Pelasgians”.

Pausanias (Arcadia, VIII, 1,4,6) reports:

“The Arcadians tell that Pelasgus was the first born in Arcadia. Since Pelasgus became king, the country was called Pelasgia in his honour”

Pindar (Carminia, Fragmenta Selecta, I, 240) tells:

“Bringing a beautifull gift, the earth made the first human being, the "Divine pelasgus", be born in arcadia, long before making the moon”

Homer mentions the Pelasgians between allied with the Troyans, (Iliad, II, 840-843) and narrates that Achille prayed “PELASGIAN ZEUS OF DODONA” (the Iliad, XVI, 223). 
Homer also mentions them also like “PEOPLE of Crete”, (Odyssey, XIX, 177).

The scientists compared DNA samples taken from healthy males living in Tuscany, Northern Italy, the Southern Balkans, the island of Lemnos in Greece, and the Italian islands of Sicily and Sardinia. The Tuscan samples were taken from individuals who had lived in the area for at least three generations. The samples were compared with data from modern Turkish, South Italian, European and Middle-Eastern populations. 

"We found that the DNA samples from individuals from Murlo and Volterra were more closely related those from near Eastern people than those of the other Italian samples", says Professor Piazza. "In Murlo particularly, one genetic variant is shared only by people from Turkey, and, of the samples we obtained, the Tuscan ones also show the closest affinity with those from Lemnos."

Scientists had previously shown this same relationship for mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) in order to analyse female lineages. And in a further study, analysis of mtDNA of ancient breeds of cattle still living in the former Etruria found that they too were related to breeds currently living in the near East.

Now we can explain why the old Scandinavian sagas dealt with the Trojans and Thracians as Turks and why Thor Heyerdahl, a great scientist, wrote about the existence of the same civilization between the West and Azerbaijan- an old Turkic land.

"The people with the kurgan culture were Altaic-speaking (and partly turcica) and not Indo-European as so far recorded (ex. from Lithuanian archologist Marija Gimbutas Baltic nationalist ideology-soaked).

Later part of these peoples of turcico-Altaic language migrated in Alpine Eastern Veneto area and Tuscania where in Tuscany they went to form the Etruscan etite minority (along with migrants coming by sea from Anatolia and the Eastern Mediterranean), in Veneto region these migrants from the Carpathian-Balkan region, contributed to the formation of the koinē venetica alongside indigenous Indo-European (direct descendants of the Homo Sapiens Sapiens that settled in these parts still back in the Paleolithic, 30/40 thousand years ago) and subsequent migrants from the Baltic area (in the 2nd millennium, perhaps partly contributors in the ethnicity and culture of ancient towers and part of the "terramare"???), while in the Alpine region contributed along with native peoples: Indo-European euganee-Switzerland-Veneto-Keltic and Slave to the formation of the Romansch-Ladin (akin to the veneto).
